Casabassa – A Private Oasis in Beautiful Umbria

Casabassa Agriturismo is a private farm house hidden in a private oasis, nestled amongst trees, away from the general hubbub of town life. Once you’ve unwound from your trip, and relaxed by the side of your private swimming pool, remember there are a host of stunning places to visit. On the right you’ll find a few of our recommendation, we’ve included a description, some photos, driving directions and of course some ideas of places to eat out and sample some of Italy’s finest cuisine.

Casabassa is situated in a beautiful part of Umbria: rolling hills, lush vineyards, volcanic lakes, waterfalls and medieval hill top towns are just some of the delights that await you. Umbria is proud of it’s many beautiful towns and cities: Assisi, Perugia, Todi, Gubbio, Spoletto and of course our own home city of Orvieto. Each place has its own unique charm.
Casabassa also lies close to the boarder of Lazio, and Tuscany and it is only a short drive to Civitta Bagnio Reggio, an enigmatic hill top town that is slowly crumbling into the surrounding valley, Lake Bolsena, a crystal clear volcanic lake, that was once Europe’s biggest active volcano and of course, at only an hour and a quarter by train, a visit to Rome, the eternal city, makes a perfect day-trip.
Tuscany’s Siena and Florence are both within driving distance too as is Chianti-shire with it’s world famous wines, which the Umbrians respect, but of course we too give them a good run for their money. And of course Maremma is well worth including in your itinerary, with it’s beautiful coast and spectacular nature reserves.
